Hublot Project F Bang Watch To Support Make A Wish Foundation

Swiss watchmaker Hublot has united with luxury retailer The Hour Glass to support the efforts of Make A Wish Foundation, a charity devoted to realizing the dreams of children afflicted with life-threatening disease.  Named “Project F Bang”, the association involves the introduction of a sensational new Hublot Big Bang watch–a split-seconds chronograph dedicated to Singapore’s Formula One racing event, the first night race to ever be conducted.

The Hublot Project F Bang Big Bang Chronograph is presented in a 44.5mm diameter black ceramic case, with lugs and lateral inserts in red composite resin.  The distinctive Hublot bezel is crafted in satinized black ceramic and is decorated with six H-shaped screws in titanium.  The black dial features a satin finish, and is contrasted by the numeral 12 in red.  From a horological viewpoint, this Hublot timepiece presents a unique technical accomplishment–a split-seconds chronograph whose pushpieces and crown are located on the left side of the case.  The watch is powered by a self-winding HUB44 RT movement, which Hublot developed with the assistance of movement specialist La Joux-Perret; in addition to the prestigious split-seconds chronograph function, which allows the timing of an independent period of elapsed time, the movement also offers a power reserve indicator, which shows the status of the mainspring barrel’s 42-hour reserve.  Hublot has fitted the Project F Bang watch with the characteristic Hublot rubber strap, as well as anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a black PVD-coated steel deployant buckle.  Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.

The Hour Glass has committed to pledge 5-percent of the retail price of each of these Hublot timepieces sold through its Singapore and Malaysia boutiques.  Production of the Hublot Project F Bang watch is limited to an edition of 100 pieces.

Greubel Forsey Quadruple Tourbillon

Greubel Forsey, Orologi Prestigiosi No Comments »

gruebel_forsey_quad_lrg.jpg

Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey have engineered the four Tourbillons together in a contemporary design, in which elegance and harmony are the dominant features. In the same spirit, and owing to the impressive number of parts which make up the movement, an asymmetrically-shaped case was chosen. The asymmetrical form was also an aesthetic tribute to the asynchronicity of the four Tourbillons. To complement the homogeneous ensemble, the displays of the small second and the power reserve dials are semi-circular.

Transparent sapphire bridges were specifically chosen to allow unimpaired visual access to the perfectly choreographed aerial ballet of the four Tourbillons.

With its sophisticated coalescence of technical Invention and artistic design, the Quadruple Tourbillon à Différentiel encapsulates the best in fine watchmaking.

Cartier Santos Triple 100

cartier-santos-triple.jpg

The Cartier Manufacture has created a new timepiece that may be rightfully considered to be a true symbol of horological innovation.

The oversized Cartier Santos Triple 100 watch delivers a great surprise due to the first-ever rotating-dial mechanism united with a skeleton movement. All you have to do is to simply turn the winding crown of the Cartier watch and it will reveal to you a gripping display of its hidden faces. Moreover, the timepiece with the case crafted in 18K white gold is entirely set with precious stones.

The R&D unit of the Cartier Manufacture elaborated the remarkable mechanism that had taken them long months of research. Right now the rotating-dial mechanism is in the process of being patented.

The team of watchmakers developed mobile prisms in 18K white gold. The prisms get activated simultaneously with help of the crown. They are operated by a miniature-gear-trains system that makes them swivel gradually in one direction or the other, thus allowing the Cartier watch reveal three different dial faces.

The three different dial faces of the Cartier Santos Triple 100 watch are revealed in succession. First, an amazed viewer sees a classic face completed with 12 Roman numerals.

Then there appears a face entirely paved with round diamonds and black sapphires forming a majestic jeweler’s chessboard.

And finally, the viewer’s admiration is further aroused by a face engraved with a tiger’s head. This amazing face required more than 40 hours of work and thorough attention to detail.
The rotating-dial mechanism of the breath-taking Santos Triple 100 is united with a Manufacture-crafted, mechanical, skeleton manually-wound movement. The 140-part and 21-jewel mechanism has been hand-decorated and assembled at the Cartier Manufacture. The double-barrel movement of the timepiece offers an advantage of a 72-hour power reserve.  The transparent case-back allows to rest one’s eyes on the movement.

The Cartier Santos Triple 100 watch embraces the wrist with a black alligator-skin strap fitted with an adjustable, triple-folding clasp with safety catch in 18K white gold.

The timepiece will be available to most avid watch connoisseurs in a numbered limited edition of only 20 pieces.
