The Cartier Manufacture has created a new timepiece that may be rightfully considered to be a true symbol of horological innovation.

The oversized Cartier Santos Triple 100 watch delivers a great surprise due to the first-ever rotating-dial mechanism united with a skeleton movement. All you have to do is to simply turn the winding crown of the Cartier watch and it will reveal to you a gripping display of its hidden faces. Moreover, the timepiece with the case crafted in 18K white gold is entirely set with precious stones.

The R&D unit of the Cartier Manufacture elaborated the remarkable mechanism that had taken them long months of research. Right now the rotating-dial mechanism is in the process of being patented.

The team of watchmakers developed mobile prisms in 18K white gold. The prisms get activated simultaneously with help of the crown. They are operated by a miniature-gear-trains system that makes them swivel gradually in one direction or the other, thus allowing the Cartier watch reveal three different dial faces.

The three different dial faces of the Cartier Santos Triple 100 watch are revealed in succession. First, an amazed viewer sees a classic face completed with 12 Roman numerals.

Then there appears a face entirely paved with round diamonds and black sapphires forming a majestic jeweler’s chessboard.

And finally, the viewer’s admiration is further aroused by a face engraved with a tiger’s head. This amazing face required more than 40 hours of work and thorough attention to detail.
The rotating-dial mechanism of the breath-taking Santos Triple 100 is united with a Manufacture-crafted, mechanical, skeleton manually-wound movement. The 140-part and 21-jewel mechanism has been hand-decorated and assembled at the Cartier Manufacture. The double-barrel movement of the timepiece offers an advantage of a 72-hour power reserve.  The transparent case-back allows to rest one’s eyes on the movement.

The Cartier Santos Triple 100 watch embraces the wrist with a black alligator-skin strap fitted with an adjustable, triple-folding clasp with safety catch in 18K white gold.

The timepiece will be available to most avid watch connoisseurs in a numbered limited edition of only 20 pieces.

The collection is dreamlike, a wandering watchmaker’s fairytale that roams the continents like a travelling circus on a voyage of discovery. First stop: Asia. These three original creations, in a limited edition series of 50 individually-numbered timepieces, call upon all areas of watch making expertise from stone-setting to enamelling, from engine turning to diamond paving and from sculpting to engraving. Cartier exhibits the full extent of its jewellery making and technical virtuosity in each of these creations, all mounted on brushed canvas straps.

Watch with panda motif
A gentle and familiar panda arrives on the scene in a plump collection of black sapphires and diamonds. The precious miniature animal holds a disc of black enamel in its paws, embossed with bamboo stalks and eucalyptus leaves in white enamel to reflect the delicate landscape of China.

Watch with elephant motif
A delicate and timid little elephant stands balanced atop a ball of pink gold covered in sparkling, star-set diamonds. The silhouette of this adorable circus hero, outlined in white gold and paved with diamonds, invades the pink-gold dial decorated with a shimmering hint of diamonds. A circus act is in full-swing in the ring where time unfolds, a dial within a dial, like a rehearsal in the art of style.

Watch with tiger motif
A tiger curls up around an iridescent, sun-like dial in yellow gold that has been entirely engine-turned and encircled with diamonds. Emerald eyes illuminate the unthreatening presence of this feline, crafted from yellow gold and yellow diamonds with onyx stripes. As if lying in wait, ready to pounce, the totemic animal created by Cartier stands out in all of its splendour inside the yellow-gold, fully-paved case of the watch.

We don’t know too much about this watch except that is will be introduced during the SIHH show in Switzerland in April. The Cartier Perles watch is part of the Cartier Libre watch collection which also includes Cartier’s Crash watches. The Cartier Perle is done in 18K white gold with 389 diamonds (a total of 2.9 carats) and highlighted by two pearls. The movement is a Swiss quartz module. The style is very striking but it looks like might be awkward to wear.

Cartier’s Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch is now available in a version fitted with a strap.  The Ballon Bleu timepiece, an acclaimed recent introduction by Cartier, has been available only with a matching bracelet in stainless steel, steel and 18K gold, or 18K gold.

The new Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier Leather watch features a 42mm case crafted from 18K pink gold, an alligator strap, and a silvered dial with a guilloche pattern.
