THE CHRONOGRAPH REVOLUTION BECOMES EVEN BIGGER

Once again, CHRONO4 by Eberhard & Co. has a surprise in store. It was at the beginning of the new millennium that, for the first time, the Swiss Maison presented this impressive model that revolutionised reading the time and interpreted it in a completely novel way. Now the chronograph is launched in a new version as GRANDE TAILLE.

CHRONO4 GRANDE TAILLE matches perfectly the most recent trend towards oversized watches. It is available in a sportive version in stainless steel or in red gold for those that prefer the elegance of precious metals.

The generously dimensioned case (Ø 43mm) hides a mechanical movement with automatic winding. Like all the other Chrono4 models by Eberhard & Co. it is characterized by an exclusive feature: its four counters are arranged in a horizontal row, which makes reading the time a logical and consequent operation. The display follows a natural progression of time: minutes and hours hand, 24 hours and small seconds hand. This revolutionary device, Patent Pending, developed by Eberhard & Co. in many years of research, is based on a remarkable overall construction that could only be materialised by a leading watch-making enterprise. Just think of the fact that no less than 53 rubies are at work here to get an idea of how refined this movement is.

CHRONO4 GRANDE TAILLE is innovative not only because of its present size, but also because of the scrupulous care expended on all details on which the Maison has always attached great importance.

A special feature of the CHRONO 4 GRANDE TAILLE, steel version, is the use of rubber not only in the crown with an “E” in relief, standing for Eberhard, but also in the push buttons where the material adorns the circumference. In the red gold version, the rubber is used only for the crown.

CHRONO 4 GRANDE TAILLE is protected by a non-reflecting sapphire glass, and it is water-resistant up to 3 or 5 atm, depending on the version.

The stainless steel variant is available with a black rubber strap featuring as a special adornment an “E“ in relief on the side, the well-known emblem of the Maison. The red gold version has a crocodile leather strap with a buckle in 18 ct. red gold.

CHRONO4 GRANDE TAILLE: an important chronograph with revolutionary dimensions.

Eberhard & Co. : 8 DAYS ALWAYS IN SIGHT

Eberhard & Co. reinterprets one of its most famous classics and introduces the model 8JOURS in a precious new GRANDE TAILLE (BIG SIZE) version.

eberhard-co-8-giorni-0.jpg

Ten years have passed since Eberhard &Co. revolutionised the world of the hands in only… 8 days.
In fact, 8JOURS by Eberhard & Co., was the first wristwatch to have an 8-day operating autonomy, thanks to a special winding element patented by Eberhard & Co., comprising two overlapping springs, whose combined length is over 1½ metres. By comparison, it is worth noting that a standard wrist watch has only one spring around 30 centimetres long.

Today, this unique, prestigious watch has become “large-sized” and is at last displaying its extraordinary mechanism! 8JOURS GRANDE TAILLE, in fact, offers not only a steel case of considerable size (Ø 41mm) compared to that of its predecessor, but, for the benefit of its many admirers, reveals part of its precious, hand-winding, mechanical movement.
From the porthole on the case back, protected by a sapphire crystal, it is, in fact, possible to admire the bridge of the large going barrel with its skeleton figure “8” silhouetted by the colour treatment, which shows off the underlying “œil de perdrix” finish on the underside of the 8, producing a three dimensional visual impact.
But that’s not all: through the 8, it is also possible to see 8JOURS GRANDE TAILLE’s second spring in action, with its exceptional length of 1 metre 25 centimetres.

8JOURS GRANDE TAILLE is waterproof to 3 atmospheres, has a sapphire crystal and is available with a silver dial and painted Roman numerals, or with a white dial and applied Arabic numerals. A white or black version with applied Roman numerals is also available.

Equipped with a crocodile wristband, 8JOURS GRANDE TAILLE is more a watch to admire rather than to read … and 8 days are hardly enough to do it justice…
