Iwc Aquatimer Boesch Limited Edition

IWC, Orologi Prestigiosi No Comments »

Schaffhausen, 29 May 2008 - Around 3,700 craft have been launched since 1920 by Boesch, the boatyard located on Lake Zurich. All made of wood. The reddishbrown, highly polished mahogany is the mark of their exclusive craftsmanship. A special edition of the Aquatimer Chronograph shows reverence to the boat builders.

The watch to match the boat? That would certainly be appropriate. Although you cannot take your boat with you everywhere, you can most certainly take the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Boesch. The watches from Schaffhausen share not only their high-quality craftsmanship with the exclusive motorboats from Kilchberg on Lake Zurich, but also an exclusive special position – they are built with passion. Similarily, IWC watches like the Aquatimer Chronograph, are also water sports enthusiasts through-and-through.

The colour scheme of the special edition “Boesch” is obvious: mahogany. As such, it emulates the air exuded by the genuine article, the sleek motorboats, which are now being built by Boesch in its fourth generation. No more than three dozen leave the exclusive yard each year after at least 2,000 man-hours. Their hulls and structural parts are made only from mahogany, the traditional boatbuilding timber, with its unsurpassed properties.

The Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Boesch adopts this feature on its dial. And reddish brown is extremely becoming. Even on the back with a mahogany inlay and a stylized marine screw propeller. On the front side, too, a small discreet signature of the second-generation owner – Walter Boesch – points to the exclusivity of this limited edition.

You can take it on a Sunday boat outing, or go waterskiing – there are numerous possibilities. Because the Aquatimer Chronograph is built as a diver’s watch with a pressure-resistance tested down to 12 bar. For diving it is equipped with the patented IWC system with a rotating inner bezel for measuring the dive time. This can be synchronized with the minute hand via the dualfunction crown at “4.00” – but only in the “safe”, anti-clockwise direction. The crown also serves as a button for resetting the chronograph, which can be started and stopped with the button at “2.00”. The crown for setting the time or for activating the automatic movement is of the screw-in type. The stainless steel case with its dimensions of 44×16 mm (diameter/height) has a convex sapphire glass that is antireflective on both sides and is supplied with a brown rubber strap to match the colour of the dial.

IWC Ingenieur Zinedine Zidane Watch: Limited Edition Of 1000

IWC, Orologi Prestigiosi No Comments »

The famous IWC Ingenieur watch has been introduced in a commemorative, limited edition variant that pays tribute to a football legend.  Presented in a series of 1,000 individual pieces, the IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane watch commemorates the vibrant career and exceptional skill and stamina of Zinédine Zidane.  The Marseilles-born Zidane, who played for the clubs of Juventus Turin and Real Madrid obtained numerous titles, both national and international.  Recognition for his outstanding accomplishments include three World Footballer of the Year awards, and the 1999 World Sportsman of the Year.

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane watch shares the case design, 120-meter water resistance, anti-magnetic protection, and exclusive Pellaton-winding 80110 caliber movement of the regular production  Ingenieur Automatic.  It is the many distinctive details which give this commemorative model its unique flavor; the blue dial and strap, both accented with red, evoke the national colors of France–the country which Zidane played 108 times for over a twelve year interval.  Turning the timepiece over reveals an intricately detailed caseback which showcases an engraved portrait of the athlete and his signature, along with a circular designation for the model name, and the inscriptions “Zinédine Zidane”, and “World Championship 1998″.  Additionally, a small engraving opposite the serial number shows the numbered edition.

This limited edition IWC timepiece was introduced by IWC CEO Georges Kern and Zinédine Zidane himself, at a special event in Paris on June 16.

IWC PORTOFINO CHRONOGRAPH

IWC, Orologi Prestigiosi No Comments »

The absolutely classic form of the Portofino Family makes simplicity a necessity. A chronograph could be seen as a foreign body in such a watch - not, however, when the intermediate times and cumulative measurement, which the 79320 calibre allows, are so finely detailed and discreetly integrated into the watch dial. The Portofino case of 41 millimetres, produced in-house, now provides enough room for the weekday display, thanks to the additional 3 mm.
