At first sight one can understand that Speedmaster 5-Counters Chronograph by Omega is really a special watch model: for the first time in many years a chronograph has 5 counters at the dial… but this is not all! Five black counters are arranged at the bright black dial in shape of 5 Olympic rings. Located at the side of the 3 o’clock marker they include:
·Small second hand counter
·7-days’ chronograph memory device
·calendar
·12-hours’ chronograph memory device
·30-minutes’ chronograph memory device
A distinguishing component of the dial is mechanical shock resistant sapphire crystal of box-like shape featuring high-gloss covering at both sides. 5-Counters Chronograph is a masterpiece not only in visual respect. Exclusive movement of the calibre 3888 and the Omega co-axial release mechanism guarantee the extreme precision and reliability of the movement. The auto winding chronometers underwent the COSC certification, and feature 52-hours’ power reserve.
5-Counters Chronograph is available in 4 variants: made of 18-karat rose gold or yellow gold with a crocodile leather strap or steel bracelet. The case’s diameter is 44.25 mm; the gold model features the bezel of appropriate colors, models made of steel have a black aluminum ring at the stainless steel bezel. Olympic symbols together with Omega’s logo at the back case once again remind that 5-Counters Chronographs are part of the Olympic Timeless Collection, dedicated to the long-time partnership of Omega and the Olympic Games.
High precision chronographs from the Olympic Timeless Collection are dedicated to the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing. The watch reminds the chronographs having been used in 1932 in Los Angeles, when Omega for the first time was the official timekeeper of the Olympics.

The Omega Speedmaster GMT Solar Impulse watch is a limited edition timepiece which celebrates Omega’s involvement with the “Solar Impulse” Project, whose goal is to circumnavigate the globe in a solar powered airplane–perhaps as early as 2009. Extremely aware of the importance of creating and harnessing sustainable energy sources, Omega is a proud associate of the project, supplying capital and engineering technology.

The Omega Speedmaster GMT Solar Impulse watch has been designed to pay tribute to the prototype plane–which has been designated as HB-SIA (Hotel Bravo Solar Impulse Alpha). The 44.25mm case and matching bracelet are manufactured from Grade-2 titanium, as are the crown and pushpieces; the caseback is a screw-in design and is engraved with the inscription “Test Flight”. A crystal in sapphire provides outstanding protection from scratches, its legibility being enhanced by the application of anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water resistance of the GMT Solar Impulse watch is 100 meters.
The carbon fiber dial of this unique Omega Speedmaster timepiece features recessed chronograph subdials; the inscription “HB-SIA” is proudly located at the 12 o’clock position, in a distinctive ochre color which matches the “Tachymetre Base 1000″ printing on the aluminum bezel insert. The central 24-hour GMT hand features an airplane-shaped tip that is yet another subtle cue that illuminates the aeronautical inspiration of the timepiece. Legibility is assured thanks to bold white luminous hands and hour and minute indications. Chronograph displays are also unambiguous; the 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers appear at the 3 and 6 o’clock positions, while small seconds are shown in the subdial at 9 o’clock.

The Omega Speedmaster GMT Solar Impulse watch is animated by the exclusive Omega 3603 caliber. This self-winding movement, which has received COSC chronometer certification for its precision performance, features a vertically-coupled chronograph governed by a column-wheel. The free-sprung balance, equipped with the friction-reducing Omega Co-Axial escapement, moves back and forth 28,800 times each hour, allowing the watch to record separate time intervals with precision to within 1/8th of a second. In addition to the chronograph functions and the supplementary GMT indicator, the movement also offers a rapidly adjustable date display. Power reserve of the 3603 caliber is 52 hours. Omega has refined this prestigious mechanism with fine decorative elements, including ‘Cotes de Geneve’ and perlage.

Omega’s release of the new Speedmaster Moonwatch “Alaska Project” honors the brand’s abilities to produce watches that can withstand the extreme conditions of space. With a limited edition production of only 1,970 pieces, the new Speedmaster Moonwatch “Alaska Project” is temperature resistant (in space) between -148 degrees Celsius and +260 degrees Celsius, encompassing more than 400 degrees.
Animated with the illustrious Omega caliber 1861, which was also used in the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the Speedmaster Moonwatch “Alaska Project” boasts an incredible 45 hour power reserve for the manual-winding chronograph and also has a 42mm stainless steel case, tachymeter scale and small seconds. The 12-hour and 30-minute recorders are each outfitted with large triangular counterweights, otherwise known as “Apollo hands”.
The extraordinary part of the Speedmaster Moonwatch “Alaska Project” is the red-anodised aluminum outer case, the red color resulting from the anodic oxidation treatment which offers the most greatest temperature protection. The case allows the wearer to still utilize the chronograph functions by way of “mushroom” pushers, without risking temperature durability.
Making this fine Omega timepiece even rarer, is the presentation box that encases the Speedmaster Moonwatch “Alaska Project,” featuring a red-anodised aluminum outer case and a set of tools. The watch is also paired with black and white Velcro straps on brushed red-anodised aluminum buckles and a stainless steel bracelet. Whether the wearer is on the Earth or the Moon, this Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch “Alaska Project” continues Omega’s traditions of extreme durability and stylish timepieces.
